Visa and Travel

In order to travel to Spain, you should first check whether you need a "Short Stay" visa on this link.

In case you need it, the visa must be applied for either in person or through a duly accredited representative in the Diplomatic Mission or Spanish Consular Office in the country where the applicant legally resides. When submitting the visa application, the established fee must be paid (generally EURO 60). If the visa is issued, it must be collected in person from the competent Diplomatic Mission or Consular Office, or collected by a duly authorised representative, within a period of one month from the date that notification is given of the award.

Either if you need a visa or not, all attendees coming from outside the EU will need to take with them to the airport the following documents (otherwise, border police may prevent you from entering Spain):

  • An Invitation Letter. Please download the pdf and submit it to visa.icb2013@uam.es.
  • Proof of compliant travel medical insurance during your stay in Spain.
  • Proof of sufficient financial means (for example, a personal bank statement).

Furthermore, those requiring a visa, need to provide the following documents when applying fot it:

  • Completely filled and signed application form.
  • An Invitation Letter. Please download the pdf and submit it to visa.icb2013@uam.es.
  • Two passport size photographs.
  • Valid national passport.
  • Proof of compliant travel medical insurance during your stay in Spain.
