Title: Data Integrity Verification for Edge Computing: Fundamentals, Current Status, and Challenges

Abstract:

Edge computing enables application vendors to offload a wide range of services to distributed edge servers, providing low-latency access for data-intensive applications. However, data cached at edge servers is susceptible to both malicious tampering and unintentional corruption, making periodic edge data integrity verification (EDIV) essential. In this talk, we will first introduce the fundamentals and research background of EDIV. Then, we will explore the state-of-the-art progress on EDIV, including an overview of system framework and notable existing solutions, followed by showing the open research challenges in EDIV. Finally, we will expand from EDIV to edge model integrity verification (EMIV) and briefly discuss the open research challenges in EMIV.
